Are Personalized Pocket Knives the Same As Logo Knives?

Ask-Your-Competitors
Personalized or Logo’d

Good question. Everyone likes to receive a gift knife with a corporate logo of their employer or a business customer. Personalizing goes an extra mile to accomplish this same goal.

Personalized Pocket Knives are a little different than putting a company logo on a Personalized Pocket Knivesknife. Personalizing really means we are putting an individual’s name or initials on the knife. Each knife is laser engraved with a different name. The pricing is a little different for doing this as opposed to engraving the same logo on every piece. Usually the cost is about $4.00 per piece, plus a setup charge of $20. If you want your logo on each knife, in addition to the personalization, that can be done, too. There’s a setup charge to do that, but the laser engraving of your logo is free. It’s included in the advertised price. Making you knives into personalized gifts is a great idea. Everyone likes to see their own name on their own things. It gives a sense of pride, and prevents knives from getting switched with someone else’s knife.

The 7 Best Personalized Pocket Knives in the OPPA Cleveland Show 2017

The Ohio Promotional Products Association had their semi-annual Cleveland Ohio show last week for distributors of promotional products. I am partial to pocket knives, so here are the best personalized pocket knives that I found in the show. Kent Getsee and Paul Rizzo represent Compass Promotions at the shows. All of the knives are offered with your company logo laser engraved on the blade, and sometimes the stainless steel handle.

What is the Difference Between Personalized Knives and Logo Knives?

Personalized Knives
Personalized Knives

Logo’ed or Logo Knives are pocket knives that have your corporate logo laser engraved or screen printed, or pad printed on the blade or handle or bolster.

Personalization is a term used for putting a person’s name on each knife, so that each knife has a different name. This is great at Christmas time, when you are giving a logo knife to your employees, and you don’t want them to accidentally get switched. Having personalized knives in your shop will make sure a person can identify his very own knife in case he lays it down somewhere.

Not all knife engravers are capable of doing both of these processes. Some can do only one.

Many business owners like to give quality gifts to their clients and employees. It is a great way to show their appreciation. Often the best idea for long-lasting gifts is personalized knives. How do you make this idea a reality? Here are some points:

Personalized Knives

  • Start with good artwork. If you don’t have any, then just use the name of your company.
  • Find a quality knife company on the internet. Using the words “company logo knives” will get you the most relevant knife engravers that can help you out.
  • Order USA-made knives, if they fit into your budget. If not, many Chinese pocket knives are available in high quality. Dako is one of them.
  • Ask for a virtual proof before your order is put into production. It is better to find a mistake on your computer screen than on 100 Buck knives.
  • Ask about the warranty. Many knife manufacturers offer a lifetime warranty, or a 25 year warranty.

4 Common Misconceptions About Personalized Pocket Knives

Personalized Pocket Knives with your company logo are used as business gifts every day. Here are 4 misconceptions about this useful gifting idea:

Stockman pocket knife
Stockman pocket knife
  1. Pocket Knives are for men only. False. Many women welcome a promotional pocket knife as a thoughtful gift. They like to keep them in their purse for emergencies like cutting string and opening boxes.
  2. Pocket Knives are just weapons. False. They are as much a weapon as baseball bats. They have many useful peaceful purposes. Like opening blister-sealed packages, cutting rope, cardboard, and cutting  things in projects involving your car, home, boat, and garage.
  3. Business gifts should not have sharp edges. False. This is based on an old superstition, like opening an umbrella in a house, and rocking an empty rocking chair. Most people now are careful enough to safely handle a sharp pocket knife.
  4. Pocket Knives cannot be taken on airplanes. False. The TSA allows you to pack pocket knives in your luggage and check it at the counter. You just can’t take them into the passenger cabin of the aircraft. The TSA was going to allow small pocket knives on board in 2015, but they reversed their ruling due to remarks from the airlines personnel.

So keep on giving quality pocket knives to your best customers. They will appreciate your generosity!

Why We Love These NEW Personalized Knives (And You Should, Too!)

These personalized knives are NEW this year, and we are excited about them. Here’s why:
7915_7915-Open_9787 Shadow Pocket Knife 7915

The Shadow gets the Logo-Knives Award for 2016 because of its simplistic design and engineering. It is all steel, but is light as a feather. The minimal handle allows your logo on the blade to be visible even when the knife is closed. 7902 Stonewash Pocket Knife 7902

This is the only knife that has a “stone-washed look” on the blade and handle. We love this unique look. 8515.jpg Orange Camo Wolverine Pocket Knife 8515

Camo is very popular, and so are carabiners and orange camo. This new pocket knife has all 3 features. 7722.jpg “Orange Bull” Pocket Knife 7722

Black stainless steel blades are “IN”. This knife has an amazingly heavy feel to it. Production time to have your company logo laser engraved on the blade is normally 7-10 business days, but rush service is available.

Searching For New Company Logo Knives in Cleveland Ohio

How do I find new company logo knives to put on the website? I mainly go to trade shows. Yesterday there was a huge show in Mayfield Heights, a suburb of Cleveland Ohio. It was sponsored by “New Product Showcase” (NPS). The foot of snow didn’t keep promotional product distributors and suppliers away. Here’s a picture of an emergency exit door showing how high the snowfall was.

I ran into one of my good friends, Vince Deissroth, who represents Redline, an imprinter of personalized pocket knives . He’s holding a Maxam Camo Knife with a fashionable black half serrated blade, soon to be on my website.
